Guangzhou Customs: Last year, the value of imported drugs and equipment from Hong Kong and Macau under supervision exceeded 21 million

Date:Jan 22,2024  Information source:Internet
According to Guangzhou Customs, in 2023, the customs has supervised over 101 batches of innovative drugs and equipment imported from Hong Kong and Macau, with a value of over 21.6 million yuan, an increase of 2 times and 2.5 times respectively compared to the previous year. The "Hong Kong Macau Medical Device Connect" policy was jointly launched by eight departments including the National Medical Products Administration and the General Administration of Customs in November 2020. Since its implementation, five batches of urgently needed imported drugs from Hong Kong and Macau have been released in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macau Greater Bay Area, covering 19 designated medical institutions in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhongshan and other cities.

In response to the characteristics of the "Hong Kong Macau Drug and Device Connect" policy, which involves multiple batches, diverse types, and high time requirements for imported drugs and devices, Guangzhou Customs and Guangdong Provincial Drug Administration have established an information exchange mechanism to guide enterprises in completing pre entry packaging, labeling, accompanying documents and other review work, optimizing and simplifying the application process. At the same time, we continuously optimize the entry and exit review process, and implement convenient reform measures such as two-step declaration and two-stage admission. We use smart checkpoints to achieve automatic inspection and release 24/7, helping drugs and medical equipment to pass customs efficiently and smoothly.
