The first batch of imported heart rhythm devices for the "Hong Kong Macau Medical Device Connect" in China have successfully cleared customs in Guangzhou

Yesterday, after passing the inspection of Yuexiu Customs, a subsidiary of Guangzhou Customs, three sets of wireless pacemakers that enjoy the "Hong Kong Macau Medical Device Connect" policy have successfully completed the import customs clearance procedures. They will soon be transported to Sun Yat sen Memorial Hospital of Sun Yat sen University for clinical use. This is the first batch of cardiac pacemakers imported through the "Hong Kong Macau Medical Device Connect" in China, which will provide more choices and more convenient channels for mainland patients to obtain cardiac pacemakers.

The "Hong Kong Macau Medical Device Connect" policy is authorized by the State Council to allow drugs that are urgently needed in clinical practice, have not yet been listed in mainland China but have been listed in Hong Kong and Macau, as well as medical devices that are urgently needed in clinical practice, have been purchased and used by public hospitals in Hong Kong and Macau, and have advanced clinical applications to be used in qualified medical institutions in the Guangdong Hong Kong Macau Greater Bay Area after approval by the Guangdong Provincial Government.

In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for cardiac pacemakers among patients in mainland China, and Guangzhou has become the city with the highest number of pacemaker implantation surgeries in southern China. This time, the city with the highest number of pacemaker implantation surgeries introduced through the ''Hong Kong Macau Medical Device Pass'' has the advantages of small size and fewer complications, which can improve the quality of life of patients after surgery. It is compatible with 50 sets of pacemakers.
